Language Learning Strategies Used by ESL Students in Enhancing English Proficiency: A Systematic Review (2013-2022)

Language learning methods (LLS) are frequently employed to support education, notably raise ESL students' competence levels. The majority of English proficiency, especially among undergraduates, is average, and academics have carried out various studies better understand the problems. competency levels students vary depending on their gender. goal study discover, using data from recent studies, language techniques utilize improve proficiency. In order trends thus thoroughly identified in this review. 47 final papers were extracted three databases: Web Science (WoS), Scopus, Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC). showed that learners adopt LLS competence. Choices influenced by socioeconomic, political, educational, religious, cultural variables. Second, show tend use one approach, but rare they more than one. Third, current research' focus groups held schools, colleges, universities, institutions, adults. These findings imply gaps factors influencing decisions. This review helps practitioners know which apply acquisition highlight research needs maintain future education.
